Description:
Metaphors are a powerful therapeutic tool in counseling, allowing clients to see and process difficult relationships and situations in a different way than traditional talk therapy techniques. Equine Assisted Counseling and Play Therapy both rely heavily on the use of metaphor, and the tools and techniques used to help clients process metaphor in an effective way are crucially important. This training will use interactions with horses to explore techniques of clean language, reflecting, and staying in metaphor. The first part of the training will be held in the training room at Citizens Bank; after lunch, the training will relocate to Copeland Farm where participants will actually work with our horse partners. CEs 6 CORE hours LPCA (pending) 6 APT hours (Approved Provider #16-460) Objectives:
