looking forward and looking back

This website marks the beginning of a new and very exciting time for me.  I have worked in many different settings across my professional experience; but for many years my goal has been to work in private practice.  Over the years, my goal and passion has grown and developed, as goals and passions have a tendency to do.  And today, I am preparing to open my practice in the community that has raised me, and where I have chosen to plant my roots.

As I look forward, I also look back.  I remember the experiences and influences that have shaped me into the person I bring into the counseling office - my family and friends, mentors, faith influences, professors, supervisors, peers.  Those who have taken a chance on me when I was "green"; those who challenged me to grow in tough spaces, as unpleasant as is was; those who supported my dreams; those who were there as supports regardless of my path; and those who provided guidance and encouragement along the way, sometimes without even realizing it.

So as I begin this journey, I want to say, "thank you" to those who have brought me to this place.  I also want to express appreciation for those who will come - those who will allow me to walk this journey of growth with them as clients.  I consider it a high honor and a privilege.

So, with that, I am proud to introduce Brave Tomorrow Counseling and Consulting.
